Marcos Cabanas Releases New Single “Racing With Rosie”: Cross-Genre Rock Track Featuring E Street Band Members

Inspired by the Jersey Shore sound, the track features Garry Tallent on bass and a horn section co-arranged with Ozzie Melendez and Barry Danielian.

Swiss singer-songwriter Marcos Cabanas released his new single “Racing With Rosie” on September 16th. Written and produced by Cabanas, the track is a crossover of Heartland Rock, Soul, and 80s synth textures, telling the story of two rebellious souls chasing freedom and love on the open road before life catches up.

Recorded in early 2025 across Europe and the US, the single includes Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band member and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Garry Tallent on bass, and E Street Horns Ozzie Melendez (Marc Anthony, Ray Charles, Billy Joel) on trombone and Barry Danielian (Elton John, Barbra Streisand, Sting) on trumpet. Also featured are longtime Cabanas collaborators Raph Dias (guitar), Mateo Erana (drums), and Maria Jensen (backing vocals). Photography was captured by legendary music photographer Rob DeMartin in San Sebastián (Spain).

“The title came from a friend casually mentioning the phrase to me during a gig, and it just clicked – Wrote it down and when I got home, I had a demo ready within the hour. In some abstract way, the song is autobiographical – two people dealing with their own struggles but making the best of life. I started with a folky vibe inspired by Zach Bryan and James Bay, later incorporating 80s synth elements. I also developed an extraordinary friendship with Ozzie, Barry, and Garry, who added their own magic and transformed the song into a genre blend that I think works really well,” says Cabanas.

The single is accompanied by a music video shot in New York City using low-fidelity techniques to highlight its nostalgic essence – another clear departure from Cabanas’ previous visuals.

“Racing With Rosie”is the first release from his upcoming second studio album, set to be announced later this year. The single will be available on all major streaming platforms.
