MARCOS CABANAS
Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist (and aerospace engineer + military officer).
May 20th 2000.
Madrid-born, Switzerland-raised. Marcos Cabanas has built a troubadour career by combining rock’s past and present into a single subsistence. Soaking up thousands of hours of rock & roll before even muttering a single word, Cabanas’ obsession for the art has turned him into the contemporary definition of a singer-songwriter. After years of performing in Europe and North America, Cabanas’ stage presence and personal songwriting has pocketed him recognition by industry heavyweights on both sides of the pond.
Early in his career, Cabanas had a stellar rise, opening for artists like MIKA and De Palmas, sharing bills with the likes of Marilyn Manson, John Newman, and Bastille, and headlining major festivals like Caribana in his native Switzerland. His first two EPs – The Godfather (2017) and Solitary Nights (2018) – hinted at a curious blend of contemporary rock and personal storytelling, reaching major record executives’ ears and described as “worthy of seeing his effort rewarded”.
Since then, Cabanas has played hundreds of concerts across world-renowned venues, cementing a solid fanbase across major European and American cities. He’s written upward of 100 songs – both for himself and for other artists – and has recorded 16 independent studio releases, including producing for smaller European artists, while his 2020 EP climbed to #88 on the German iTunes Top Albums charts. Cabanas has appeared with artists like Lyle Lovett, Manuel Carrasco, and has recorded with members of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, earning him a small but influential spot in rock and country music.
The mid-2020s marked a breakthrough chapter with the release of Cabanas’ debut full-length album Antebellum (2024). Combining autobiographical storytelling with themes of love, disillusionment, societal unrest, and the search for purpose, the record earned praise from international critics, wrote that “the songs feel like best-selling novels that you can’t put down” (The Whole Kameese). Its lead single “Self Love” climbed to #46 on the Hypeddit Global Indie Charts, introducing Cabanas to a growing audience.
Building on that momentum, Cabanas has begun unveiling the songs that will make up his second studio album – a deeply personal project featuring collaborations with members of Bruce Springsteen’s legendary E Street Band. The work places him among a very small circle of 13 artists to have recorded with members of the iconic group, alongside figures such as Bob Dylan and Ringo Starr. The album’s leading single “Racing With Rosie” (2025) climbed even higher on the Hypeddit Global Top Music Charts, peaking at #39, while the release cycle also saw Cabanas embark on his first headlining United States tour in early 2026. With over a million streams on Spotify, his music continues to echo with listeners worldwide.
Through his music, Cabanas has also used his platform for charitable causes like the Spanish Association Against Cancer, and MusiCares’ Covid Relief Fund, cementing his role not just as an artist, but as someone who believes in the power of music to make change.
In a contrasting facet, Cabanas also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology, is a staff officer in the Swiss Air Force, and actively pursues a Master’s degree in Aerospace Control & Simulation. He also holds an SCMV pre-professional diploma in Saxophone performance after 11 years of studying the instrument.

His songwriting, production, and sound is all stellar. He is a gifted singer and songwriter. I’m grateful for his friendship and work.
– Lyle lovett (American singer-songwriter, 4x grammy award winner)
Cabanas is a songwriter with an authentic sound and style that is a breath of fresh air in today’s world. He’s a brilliant and vibrant storyteller whose songs are like best selling novels that you can’t put down.
– The Whole KameEse (AMERICAN Music Review MAGAZINE)
He’s amazing. What a damn powerful voice.
– Manuel Carrasco (Spanish singer-songwriter, latin grammy nominee)
Cabanas represents those uncommon performers who successfully blend raw emotional truth with solid musical technique. His vocal delivery echoes Lewis Capaldi’s strongest work – that same gift for converting fragility into power, though with deeper grasp of musical tension and release. He channels something reminiscent of John Mellencamp too – discovering grandeur within ordinary moments, minus any overwrought drama.
– INDIE BOULEVARD (AMERICAN MUSIC REVIEW MAGAZINE)
Cabanas takes you on a ride that is sure to help you understand certain aspects of your own life. If a guy from Switzerland can deliver a Heartland Folk Americana sound and inhabit his characters to the fullest, he provides a path for you to do the same
– TAYLOR JAMES DAVIS (AMERICAN singer-songwriter)
Cabanas explores the field with an indie folk foundation and a stadium ready edge. Within HIS fantastic all-original compositions, there is a natural emotive leaning, tapping into the human condition and lived experiences.

– JOSE BULEVAR (Spanish singer-songwriter)
Even if the Rollois of Spanish origin dreams of making a FULL-TIME career, he keeps his feet firmly on the ground… A meteoric rise for someone who is at the same time author, composer and performer.
